February 2006 - Resistance Welding Machine and Accessory Announces the Addition of Unitrol's SOFT TOUCH Safety System

1. What is SOFT TOUCH?
SOFT TOUCH is a revolutionary system designed to passively protect your spot weld operators without effecting production.


2. How does it work?
The SOFT TOUCH patent pending function keeps the electrode force very low until it is safe to apply full welding force. While the electrodes are closing, a Unitrol TOUCH SENSOR system decides when the electrodes have closed on or near the metal being welded. If an obstruction is detected prior to closing, the electrodes will go back to the fully opened position (avoiding major injury to the operator's fingers).
